Baramasa Homestay, Ransi Village

Where Generations Welcome You
Located in the quiet and scenic village of Ransi, Baramasa Homestay is more than just a place
to stay — it’s a home with a rich history of hosting travelers and trekkers for over four decades.
Surrounded by green hills, fresh mountain air, and traditional village life, this homestay offers a
peaceful break from busy city life.
The homestay is run by the warm and welcoming couple Lakhma Devi and Narendra Singh.
Their story goes way back — Narendra Singh’s father was one of the earliest local guides and
porters in the region, helping people on treks to Madhmaheshwar Temple and other Himalayan
routes. Inspired by his father, Narendra grew up meeting travelers, hearing their stories, and
trekking across Garhwal and Kumaon himself.
Today, Narendra Singh is an experienced trekking guide who has led groups on famous treks
like Har Ki Dun, Kalindi Khal Expedition, Gangotri-I, Satopanth Tal, and many others. Staying at
Baramasa Homestay means you not only get a clean and cozy room but also get to hear rare
tales from the trails.
Baramasa Homestay offers 2 clean, comfortable rooms, perfect for solo travelers, small families,
or groups of friends.

Each room includes:

● Double beds with fresh linens
● Attached washrooms with geysers
● Room heaters and kettles
● Yoga mats for quiet morning stretches
● A small working station for those carrying work along
● Room charges: ₹1000 per day.

Though small in size, the homestay’s warmth, cleanliness, and the care shown by its hosts have
built a loyal guest base, with nearly 50% of guests returning on their next visits.
Homemade Pahadi Food
At Baramasa Homestay, meals are home-cooked by Lakhma Devi using fresh vegetables from
their own kitchen garden and farm. Dairy like milk, curd, and ghee comes from their own cattle,
ensuring purity and traditional flavors.
The food includes classic pahadi dishes, organic seasonal vegetables, and simple Indian meals.
A wholesome thali is served at ₹150 per plate, and you can request special snacks or local
delicacies if you wish.
